Friday, June 17, 2022 –Both Joseph Irungu aka Jowie and media personality Jacque Maribe could find themselves behind the bars over the chilling murder of business lady, Monica Kimani.
Chief Investigating Officer, Maxwell Otieno, placed the first accused Joseph Irungu at the scene of the murder in Lamuria Gardens on the night Monica is alleged to have been murdered in cold blood.
From the items he collected at the scene and during the entire investigation period, Jacque Maribe and Irungu must have jointly participated in executing the business lady for unknown reasons.
Investigating Officer Maxwell Otieno said that their forensic analysis on call data clearly showed the accused was captured leaving the scene of the murder at Lamuria Gardens at 2335 hours.
“Jennings met Jowie at 11:40 pm where the accused met him on foot at a petrol station before boarding the vehicle belonging to the 2nd accused person Jacque Maribe,” the officer submitted.
Irungu was also the last person spotted leaving Monica’s apartment in Kilimani before her lifeless body was discovered in the bathroom.
Also, the court heard that both Irungu and Maribe tried to hide some truth with contradicting statements despite the fact that they were together on the night of the murder. They were also spotted enjoying booze at a Wetlands club identified as 40 Forty almost after the murder had taken place.
Ms Maribe also switched off her phone for some hours before switching it on after the murder had taken place.
The hearing of the case has been adjourned until July 11th this year.
