Monday, July 19, 2021 -Top Kenya Certificate of Primary Education KCPE candidate of 2020 Faith Mumo may not join high school when other students will be joining on August 2.
Having scored a whopping 433 marks out of 500, Faith who sat her exams at Kari Mwailu Primary School was lucky to receive a calling letter from one of the best national schools – Kenya High.
Following the news, the elated Faith had already indicated how she would pursue medicine when she finally completes Secondary level for University; but as secondary school joining deadline nears, her hopes keeps dwindling.
According to the father Mr. Paul Mumo, they are not able to raise the required school fee and other expenses as detailed in the calling letter by August.
“There are several people and corporate organizations and private organizations and leaders who promised to support us but have since gone silent,” he revealed.
To join secondary studies, her daughter will require a sum of sh 120,00 which amount only Bishop Margret Wanjiru kept her promise of sh 26,000 pledge.
Further, area Member of Parliament for Matungulu Stephen Mule had hinted at supporting the child but was yet to act.
Nonetheless, the parent has declared that he will make his way to Kenya High School with whatever money he will be having and plead with the Principal to give him some more time to look for the balance.
Mumo reportedly lost his accountant job in 2020 when Coronavirus was reported in the country forcing him to switch to small scale farming.
He has three other children – in form two, class eight and Grade four.
