Tuesday, January 18, 2022 – Former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga has assured his supporters that he will win next general election with a large margin.

Speaking at City Hall today Tuesday January 18, Mr. Odinga castigated his main rival William Ruto for alleging that ODM leaders were fueling violence to intimidate other contestants. Odinga noted that the coming election will be won on the basis of numbers and not chaos.

He also reasoned that UDA Party camp was already in panic mode due to the increasing force in the Azimio la Umoja Movement.

“Hii kura tutashinda na kura. Wawache wasiwasi tutakutana kwa debe,” Odinga charged.

He seized the opportunity to urge Nairobi residents to register as voters so that all seats in Nairobi can be taken by ODM Party.

He recounted how his party got over 900,000 votes from Nairobi County alone in 2017 with Uhuru trailing him with 700,000 votes.

“Here in Nairobi in 2017, I got over 900,000 votes and Uhuru got over 700,000. If you add the two you get around 1.6 million votes. We want that number to get to over two million.

“There is no sleeping. Every morning get up early and go there to register and even if these people (IEBC) want to work until the night it is okay. Money is there and we shall release it,” he stated.

At some point, the charged up ODM Party boss was forced to pause his address when his loyal supporters got carried away by his speech. He promised to make sure IEBC voter registering clerks are funded enough to register as many persons as possible ahead of next elections.

The remarks by the ODM leader comes shortly after IEBC officially launched the second mass voter registration on Monday, January 17, which is scheduled to run till February 6.
