Monday, August 23, 2021 -A young mother Irene Mutaki who took Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka to court over pregnancy related issues has withdrawn the case.
Citizen Digital reported on Monday evening that both parties, after their intensive discussions, came to an amicable agreement to resolve their differences out of court as the court had earlier allowed during preliminary sessions.
“Take notice that the applicant has wholly withdrawn the entire suit dated June 15 2021 together with all attendance applications,” read the new court order on pulling out the case.
Through her lawyer Dunstan Omari, the woman in the Notice of Withdrawal dated August 20 said she nolonger has anything against Mr. Luaska and that she will not be seeking any costs on the case she had filed a few months ago.
The said lady had matched to the court seeking a whopping sh 200,000 monthly upkeep for her unborn child or a lump-sum fee of sh 25 million.
She had accused Mr. Lusaka of neglect putting the life of both the mother and child to a higher risk. This saw the defendant fight hard to have the case sorted out of courts.
Mutaki was once nominated to the Bungoma County Assembly on Ford Kenya Party ticket before her appointment was revoked due to political misunderstandings.
