Thursday, October 7, 2021 -Police have refuted claims from Kapsaret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi that Weston Hotel was almost being demolished.
According to the police from Lang’ata, Sudi was only whipping up emotions among their supporters for sympathy reasons by claiming that plans to demolish the multi-million Hotel were in top gear.
This is after a thread trended on Wednesday claiming that the deputy president-linked hotel which sits on 0.773 hectares piece of land was almost being pulled down by bulldozers.
This started when MP Sudi tweeted about the issue by attaching a photo of the bulldozers being transported on a truck headed to the Lang’ata Road-based hotel.
“The Deep State are indeed cornered. They have today decided to express their fury by demolishing Weston Hotel,” read Sudi’s statement in part.

But speaking to the media, a police officer attached to Lang’ata Police Station under whose jurisdiction the hotel falls under refuted being in the know-how of such plans to destroy the hotel.
Essentially, any plans to pull down such a structure must be communicated to the area police for security reasons but until morning of Thursday, they were not in the know.
Another communique from the police also refuted such claims and stated that it is not true the hotel was going to be demolished as had been claimed by top Ruto’s allies.
Reacting to the matter, lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi who is representing Ruto in the case, tweeted that any plans to pull down the hotel will increase DP’s popularity ahead of 2022 elections.
“Some intelligence news brains and calculations, demolishing Weston Hotel is direct campaigns to Ruto and Hustler Nation,” stated Abdullahi.
Ruto through his lawyers led by Abdullahi, last July, rushed to the court to stop such an exercise. The lawyers wanted the case postponed to next year.
The hotel is located on a land opposite Wilson Airport.
