A shocking CCTV viral footage showing two thugs breaking into a car parked within Nairobi CBD has continued to cause panic over safety of motorist in the city.
In the footage dated Sept 17, the two men can be seen alighting from a silver van, as one of them confidently walks towards a target car, struggles to break into it through the driver’s door but without much success.
One of the suspects from the 3 minute video is seen jiggling with the driver’s door handle, retreats back on noticing a stranger before surfacing to finally break into the car using the hind door. He then fishes something that looks like a laptop and together with his accomplice drives away in a huff.
He first managed to break a portion of the window’s glass before flanging open the cars door enabling him to get access to their main aim in the car.
Nairobi has had so many of these incidents in a report detailed in the 2018 Annual Crime Report which was released by National Police Service NPS.
Car owners in Nairobi and major cities were cautioned against leaving valuables in their cars anytime they are parking.
For instance, in Kakamega town near Turkeys Supermarket, many cars have been broken into and valuables of unknown amount stolen almost every day.
