Ruto Promises Hustlers sh 120 Million Every Year

Saturday, October 16, 2021 –Deputy President William Ruto sustained his hustler campaigns in Mombasa by promising to fund all small traders when he takes power.

The second in command while speaking on Saturday October 16, assured that his government will focus on the struggling population through financial aides that will boost their businesses.

He was speaking this in Kongowea Market when he divulged that the sh 120 million annual allocation will run parallel with the Constituency Development Fund CDF.

“Next year my administration will include in its budget a special fund that will be geared at supporting small traders.

“We will allocate Ksh120M as an addition to the Constituency Development Funds. These funds will help us release hustlers from the shackles of debts,” Ruto said.

He faulted all previous governments for failing to address the plight of small scale traders in the country saying this should have been a priority for any government.

“There are many small scale business operators who do not have nice stalls to run their businesses, a law to help them or anywhere to get loans from,” Ruto added.

He took the opportunity to warn business brokers who have been exploiting small businesses in the country.

The DP also used the opportunity to donate a whopping sh 2 million to Kongowea Market traders and promised to help them stabilize further.

“Today, we are giving you Ksh2 million, but that is so little. Next year, I pray that you will not receive something as small as Ksh2 million,” Ruto noted.

And while taking a swipe at Odinga, the DP said his recent promise to support youth with sh 6,000 was an insult from a man who wants to run a government in 2022.
