Monday, October 18, 2021 –President Uhuru Kenyatta has intervened to cool down increasing tension between Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru and Woman Representative Purity Ngirici.

In their Sagana Lodge meeting held on Monday October 18, Mr. Kenyatta asked the two leaders to put aside their supremacy differences so that they can serve their people this remaining few months.

He added that its only through genuine politics that the country can reach the required development levels. Uhuru went on to urge both leaders to focus on unity of purpose rather than 2022 succession push and pull.

The Jubilee Party boss mentioned the ongoing development in Kirinyaga County especially the Thiba Dam and attributed it to his change of tact in leadership what he asked the grassroots leadership to also emulate.

“We have fulfilled these projects because of the cooperation and peace among leaders which has ensured that we not only transform the lives of the residents of Kirinyaga but also all citizens of Kenya,” Mr. Kenyatta stated.

According to the president, every project done in this country belongs to everyone and not only a section of the people.

“Our rice farmers are now getting better prices for their produce. All this is happening because of work and not because of empty rhetoric,” the president reiterated.

Waiguru took that opportunity to thank the head of State for his leadership style saying, in most cases, the national government had done a lot for Kirinyaga residents by supporting the count projects.
