Monday, October 25, 2021 –Another fatal explosion has left two persons dead and scores injured in Uganda just a day after there was witnessed another deadly blast.
Last Saturday, a bomb exploded in a restaurant in the outskirts of Kampala Uganda causing too much fear and tension around the country.
And in the fresh blast today Monday October 25, Police officer Thomas Kiguli who was among the passengers in the ill-fated bus said the explosion which took place in Swift Aafari bus was scaring and happened when the bus was traveling from Kampala Town to Bushenyi. The ugly blowing off took place at Lungala area in Mpigi District just 30 kilometers from the city.
“We were in the bus registration number UAU 989T. When we reached a place called Lungala in the Mpigi district, an explosion occurred in the middle of the bus. We all struggled to get out. Most of us got out through the windows,” said Kiguli.
The police officer added that two victims died on the spot as others sustained severe injuries which may result in more death cases. In the team that was injured was another senior police officer.
Currently, investigations are ongoing with security agencies rushing to the scene to establish what actually transpired before the explosion and what could be the cause as well as the motive.
In a security alert issued recently by United Kingdom UK, Uganda was told to prepare for such terrorist activities.
