Tuesday, October 26, 2021 –Leah Wambui used to sell alcohol in a liquor store she had opened in in Kiambu area after she quit her receptionist job.

While making the inspiring revelations on a Youtube channel this week, Ms Wambui stated that she was not comfortable working for someone; and the salary was also not so good to settle her bills.

Recounting the developments, it was in 2015 when she met her first ever breakthrough after she bought a plot in Kitengela area in Kajiado County. It was a five-acre piece of land where she launched her Cheriez Properties Limited which deals in real estate.

“I sold my house with my husband’s blessing and decided to use some of the little savings that we had managed to raise. Our plan was to start with 10 houses,” she disclosed.

Though she had struggled and managed to put up some well-furnished units, the stage to find occupants was another nightmare. The project would then stall the following year in 2016.

“We had our first show house and we invited people to come. I thought that the moment we had the show house we would get clients. I got into a rude shock. People came but most of them were friends and relatives and not the actual buyers,” she divulged further.

The property guru said finding a buyer was not easy and almost gave up even after she tried reaching out to international buyers through several online platforms.

But when she was just about to give up, the form four leaver received a life changing call which turned her into a stable millionaire dealing in real estate business which has flourished todate.

She details luck of trust with her employees who used to steal a lot from her sweat what even forced her to relieve most of them their duties.

“There is a day I woke up and relieved everybody of their duties because the syndicate of theft was too much. I would ship tiles and they would bring trucks at night to take the tiles. The project manager would also collude with contractors and inflate their invoices,” Wambui added.

Today, the millionaire business-lady has no regrets in taking this competitive route of earning a living with her eyes now set to open branches around the country and across the border.
