Wednesday, November 3, 2021 –Renowned vocal lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi has offered to defend all Jubilee defectors who are reportedly being hunted down by the State in a revenge mission.
On Wednesday November 3, the city lawyer offered free legal services to the likes of Anne Waiguru and any other politician planning to decamp from Uhuru’s wing to Deputy President William Ruto’s Hustler Nation.
In the evening tweet, the lawyer faulted the move by the government to implicate those who are having a different political opinion.
“I think I will form a team of lawyers who will defend pro bono politicians who consciously resign from my beloved Jubilee after listening to the ground and are persecuted because of their political stand.
“Kenyans should never be told to either support Hon Raila or go to jail,” he said.
He was saying this barely a week after the embattled Governor Anne Waiguru complained that the State machinery had been unleashed against her over unsubstantiated graft accusations.
She linked the witchhunt to her new political stand in which she has thrown weight behind Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 candidacy.
Apart from Ms Waiguru, Mathira lawmaker Rigathi Gachagua and his Kapseret counterpart Oscar Sudi have also had their fair share of arrests for related economic crimes.
