Monday, November 8, 2021 –Maranda High School has been burnt down by students; joining the list of schools that have since been set ablaze around the country.
Reports reaching Homenews.co.ke on Monday November 8 elaborated that a 500 capacity dormitory was reduced to ashes at the school in the night inferno that left the neighbouring in huge shock.
Maranda School is one of the best schools in the country and has ever since been a safe school for parents to take their children. It is responsible for producing bright students in every national examination.
Experts claim that the current trend where learners are burning down schools is because of getting fatigued and want to communicate their rage through fires.
Further, another report pointed out that students are bored with learning and want to go back to their freedom of partying, drinking and other societal immoralities which they think is best for them.
This is happening even after they had to spend a whole year at home when the cases of Covid-19 hit roof in the country.
Due to pregnancy and other reasons, most of them could not resume learning after schools went back to their full operations following a two-year long Covid-19 pandemic break.
A total of 38 schools among them Buruburu, Sigalame and Ofafa Jericho in Nairobi County have since been affected by the deliberate fires.
