Tuesday, November 16, 2021 –Ex-Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and his former Kiambu counterpart Ferdinand Waititu today met in corridors of justice where they had gone to attend to their respective graft cases.
The two on Tuesday morning November 16 bumped into each other within the precincts of the court and shared a 15-minutes light moment.
They could be seen sharing their challenges with animated laughter outside the anti-corruption court room in Milimani, Nairobi.
As Sonko was coming for the hearing of the sh 357 million graft case, Waititu on the other hand was present for the hearing of his sh 588 million corruption case in Kiambu County during his tenure which ended prematurely.
Mr. Sonko and Ferdinand were both removed from office after they were impeached by their respective County Assemblies and the decision upheld at the Senate level.
Attempts for the duo to defend themselves through the court also hit a dead end and they had to pack and leave office.
Today, Kiambu has a new governor who was elevated from the deputy governor position; same to Nairobi County now being led by Ms Anne Kananu who has been acting before she was sworn in on Tuesday November 16 morning.
