Police Heighten Security Along Thika Road and CBD

Tuesday, November 16, 2021 –Security apparatus were today mounted along the busy Thika Super Highway and within the CBD.

The National Police Service NPS in conjunction with the National Youth Service NYS on Tuesday evening started searching every car along the busy highway causing a traffic snarl up along the road.

The random search, according to sources, was being conducted in search of the three terror suspects who, two days ago, escaped from the Kamiti Maximum Prison causing panic in the country.

Further, there have been increased attacks in Uganda and which have also triggered the increased security concerns around the Kenya.

“There is an unusually high police presence on Thika Road near Safari Park. Very heavy traffic with police stopping every single car on the service lane for inspection,” stated a commuter along the highway.

Special Unit Police, according to impeccable sources, have been deployed around major cities and borders to improve the security after the situation was worsened by the two simultaneous blasts that occurred in Uganda on Tuesday morning injuring over 24 persons.

Police will not be resting across the country following the scare which they have decided to take serious in an exercise that could extend upto end year.
