Sunday, November 21, 2021 –Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula has hinted at supporting ODM Party leader Raila Odinga for another time.
In a sit down interview with a local daily on Saturday November 20, the Ford Kenya Party boss said he would again be willing to support Raila’s presidency if he(Raila) will come for him.
He said it would be through persuasions that he could decide to throw his weight again behind the ODM Party leader who is in a better position to give Deputy President William Ruto a run for his money.
“I have twice supported his presidential bid and if he reaches to me again and convinces me as a member of his previous team who has walked with him through a tiring and painful journey, I will consider his word.
“But where is he? Has he sought my audience on this yet or does he just expect me to follow him without persuasion because he considers me a junior partner,” Wetangula said.
Should Wetang’ula decide to support Raila Odinga, then Bungoma County will be as good as gone to the ODM Party boss whose popularity is at a good place around Western Region.
Wetang’ula is a member of One Kenya Alliance OKA which comprises Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, and KANU Chairman Gideon Moi.
Raila, 76, and Deputy President William Ruto are the two 2022 front runners in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta who is serving his second and last term.
