DP Ruto fights back pressure to resign after skipping Covid-19 event

After skipping the Monday September 29th Covid-19 live conference, pressure has continued to mount on the Deputy President William Ruto to pen a resignation letter as soon as possible.

The fresh calls to haunt Ruto out of office escalated on Tuesday September 29th with legislators allied to the president asking the second in command to do the hounorable thing and leave job instead of waiting for more embarrassments.

Ruto and his brigade have of recent been on a charm offensive asking the State to stop intimidating them.

They believe they have been a target of the State in anything bad that was happening in the country.

They have therefore warned the Uhuru-led government from trying to plan to rig elections of 2022 against the DP through the new project dubbed ‘Huduma Namba’.

This push and pull between the two factions has seen uglier instances arise in many State functions with the latest being the covid-19 conference which the DP decided to boycott citing a set up by State operatives who now are hellbent on luring him in the mess surrounding Covid-19 donations.

And speaking on the situation, the National Assembly Security Committee Chairman Paul Koinage said Ruto was experiencing an early panic ahead of the 2022 campaigns and soon he will be gasping for oxygen.

“The allegations being peddled by the Ruto team are signs of people who do not have a winning strategy,” he observed.

Ruto’s team however, on the other hand, now wants Mr. Kenyatta to quickly dissolve the parliament as advised by Maraga.

“I support the CJ because we have been mistreated. If Parliament is dissolved, I will not defend my seat through Jubilee Party. I am not alone on this. I cannot guarantee that Jubilee will remain a majority party if we go for a re-election,” Kositany mentioned.

This sentiments were backed by Nandi Senator Samson Cherergei who said they were not afraid to go back to the people and seek fresh mandate to power.
