Thursday, November 25, 2021 –Former Premier Raila Amollo Odinga with his Wiper Party counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka have finally met after a long time of political misunderstandings.
The host Kalonzo Musyoka deviated from the recent norm by deciding to invite the Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party leader Raila Odinga together with a section of Orange members in his unveiling ceremony held at Kasarani Sports Center Stadium.
Mr. Kalonzo unveiled his candidature as the Wiper Party’s Presidential flag bearer in a delegates-filled event.
While speaking, the opposition supremo Odinga addressed their relationship with Kalonzo saying they have an unfinished business together which he believes will only be accomplished well if they reunited.
In what pundits could easily describe as courting back friendship, ODM leaders heaped praises and Kalonzo for his diplomatic way of running affairs; and urged him to make sure he is not left behind in forming next government.
Odinga assured that he has not written off plans to work with Kalonzo since they have a common mission and which can only be accomplished together.
“I am sure that what Kalonzo wants is what Raila wants. Our road will meet again ahead,” Raila remarked.
He also clarified that his presence in the Wiper event was necessary because of his past good working relationship with Musyoka especially in the two past general elections in which Kalonzo was his loyal running mate.
On his part, Mr. Musyoka reignited the debate about fighting corruption and urged leaders to belive in his ability to clean the country from looters.
“It pains my heart sincerely to see our nation impoverished because of corruption. Thieves are running around the country masquerading as saviours while crucifying our children’s future,” the former Vice President remarked.
The Ukambani leader who makes part of key figures in their newly formed One Kenya Alliance is jostling for the top position same to his co-principals in OKA – Gideon Moi, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula.
Also present in the event was KANU’s Gideon Moi, ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi, Cyrus Jirongo and Raphael Tuju.
