Thursday, December 9, 2021 –President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday December 7 bade farewell to outgoing Japan’s ambassador to Kenya Mr. Ryoichi Horie.
The Ambassador paid the head of State a courtesy call at State House, Nairobi and seized the opportunity to share with the president some of his best experiences in the country.
Horie also entertained the president with a number of Swahili patriotic songs among them Malaika, Kenya and many more.

According to the Statehouse social media walls, the meeting was attended by Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Raychelle Omamo and Head of Public Service Dr Joseph Kinyua. Uhuru thanked the outgoing envoy for helping deepen Kenya-Japan bilateral ties.
The Head of State observed that several transformative projects, supported by the Japanese Government, had taken off during Amb Ryoichi’s tenure among them the Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone.
Uhuru who was elated with his visitor wished him all the best in his next assignments in Japan.
