The Governor went ahead to advise his choice – the Mvita MP – to emulate his way of working and take forward the county so that to realize its full potential.
“The journey has started and we have shown you the way. It is now up to you (Mombasa residents) to follow the path we have set,” the governor, whose second term ends in August 2022 further urged.
On his part, Abdulswamad promised to keep the manifesto of the outgoing ODM Party governor alive and to make sure all pending projects are fulfilled within the first few days of his tenure. He also promised to continue engaging Joho in matters governance of Mombasa County.
“The first invite as the chief guest in the next Christmas tree lighting ceremony shall be Joho. I have officially invited you in advance,” the MP appreciated.
Joho, just like Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, is among the few governors who had showed confidence in the top seat within their ODM Party. They had already tendered their nomination papers ready to take over the party from their long serving party boss Raila Odinga.
