Thursday, December 23, 2021 –Head of State Uhuru Kenyatta today Thursday December 23 drove himself along the new Nairobi Expressway.

In the video Homenews.co.ke has had an access to, Uhuru was spotted driving a black Range Rover leading a convoy of cars as a number of State officials were seen waiting for him to alight.

Uhuru further shocked every one when he by himself opened his car’s door contrary to the usual norm where he is always assisted to open doors by his aides and security team.

After alighting, he was warmly received by hundreds of top government officials among them Cabinet Secretary James Macharia before they altogether inspected the 27.1 Kilometers highway.

The president would then commend that the ‘Superhighway’ will play a major role in easing traffic for the motorists heading to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport JKIA.

“I assure that the indicated date of March for completion of this project is going to be met. And I will be very proud to drive all the way from Machakos to Ruroni to launch the road to Mau Summit,” Uhuru stated.

This is not the first time the head of State was driving himself around the city, on March 16, he was also spotted driving a similar model of Range Rover as he inspected the renovation exercise of the Green Park Terminus that was being undertaken by the Nairobi Metropolitan Services NMS.

In a previous tour on the expressway, Uhuru expressed his gratitude to Chinese government for helping implement the multi-million project which will spur economy of the nation.
