Wednesday, December 29, 2021 –Government is behind the recent kidnapping incident of digital strategist Dennis Itumbi. Deputy President William Ruto has claimed.
Making this statement after paying a visit to the ailing aide in hospital today Wednesday December 29, Ruto stated that the government was behind all these attacks on his supporters.
His statement pointed fingers at police officers who were acting on orders from above to harm Dennis Itumbi.
“I saw his heavily bangled arm and legs, the result of torture by people who should have been there to protect him and us all,” the DP wrote.
Ruto made the remarks immediately after visiting Itumbi who is currently bedridden at Nairobi West Hospital since last week.
“They have now turned violent & fatalistic after all the negative narratives, threats and blackmail against us failed,” the statement read in part.
This statement from Ruto adds weight to previous utterances by his allies led by Senator Samson Cherargei who had accused the State of being behind the kidnap that almost claimed Itumbi’s life.
Itumbi’s dramatic abduction was first made public by his family members who had raised an alarm after he went missing; before his lawyers emerged with claims that the victim had been kidnapped at Thindigwa by three men who bundled him into a strange car and fled away with him.
The blogger would later be found naked on the roadside with physical injuries both in the face and on his body.
