Tuesday, January 4, 2022 –Tired Kirinyaga County Woman Representative Purity Wangui Ngirici has repossessed a building she had turned into UDA Party offices in Kirinyaga County.
Sources divulged that the legislator on Monday December 3 reclaimed the building alongside other equipment including cars she had branded with UDA Party colours and logo.
This move could be the last straw in her involvement in UDA Party affairs just days after she announced her plans to run independently.
The entire building where she had painted with UDA yellow colours has been removed and the place is now locked.
The sources also revealed to Homenews.co.ke that the aggrieved MP who cited betrayal from DP Ruto has removed all the stickers branded with UDA yellow colours on both her campaign cars and public address system.
The rift between Ngirici and Ruto escalated when Kirinyag Governor Anne Waiguru joined UDA in a move she was not comfortable with. The coming in of Waiguru saw her(Ngirici) look out of place and miserable.
“In 2022, I will not stand with any political party. I will seek to be elected as a governor, as an individual, and I’m confident that I will sail through,” the Woman Rep announced recently.
The outspoken MP revealed that UDA’s top leadership had prevailed upon her to drop her gubernatorial plans so that to leave Waiguru free space to win again in 2022.
This claim however was refuted by UDA office which said they had never engaged Ngirici on such a matter.
DP Ruto has also promised that he will not be having favorites in the coming contest during their party primaries.
