Led by Njahi Komari and Phelister Wairimu, the group sent a very powerful message to His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta over DP William Ruto’s presidential bid saying the agreement which the two had of supporting each other must be respected to the end.
They also said that Kikuyu community will not only support Ruto for one term but two since he also supported Uhuru two full terms; as the agreement was ‘Kumi Kumi’.
While giving their blessings to DP William Samoei Ruto at the Eldoret Sports Club today Saturday January 8, the Elders reminded President Kenyatta of 2013 pact with Ruto.
According to Komari’s sentiments, Kikuyus will not go against the document because it is in good spirit to fulfill any promise made between adults.
“Tunakumbuka vizuri sana vile Rais Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta alimuahidi Naibu wa Rais Dk. William Samoei Ruto kuhusu mamlaka. Na sisi kama jamii hatujasahau. Ni lazima tutatimiza agano hili,” Komari said which loosely translates into:
“We are aware of what President Uhuru Kenyatta promised William Ruto over leadershiin 2013 and 2017 and as a Community, we will have to fulfill this”.
