Thursday, January 20, 2022 –Mr. Jimi Wanjigi failed to convince ODM Party National Executive Committee NDC that he was the best man to win this year’s general elections.

Party’s Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has said that when they had a meeting with Wanjigi, he was unfortunately, not able to persuade enough numbers to support his bid. That out of 38, Wanjigi could only manage 1 person.

Mr. Sifuna who was making an appearance on JKL show on Wednesday Januray 18 noted that their meeting with Wanjigi ended badly for the business mogul who could not tell hwo he was going to bring a victory to the party in general polls.

“I’m a NEC member, we are those people who vote to determine the presidential candidate. I can tell out of 38 people, Jimmy Wanjigi has only managed to convince only one person. It is not just about crying and saying you’re a candidate.

“I have had a conversation with him because I consider him my friend and I would not wish what’s happening to him, to happen to my enemies. He was unable to convince me on a path to victory for us as ODM with him as our candidate, this is just the truth,” Sifuna stated.

Sifuna also clarified that linking Raila Odinga to the ongoing DCI-Wanjigi fights was ill-founded and had no basis because such fights are so little for Raila to get involved in.

“The issue is a legal problem that will be sorted out by Wanjigi and his legal team alone, where does Raila Odinga come into play in all of this?” Sifuna posed.
