Saturday, January 22, 2022 –There was a complete cold reception for Deputy President William Ruto who on Saturday January 22 toured Makueni County for a series of rallies.
According to KTN Tv, the second in command arrived early at Kathonzweni African Inland Church (A.I.C) only to be met with empty seats. This forced the Church leaders to plead with the nearby school to send learners to fill the empty seats to appear like there were people to address. Congregants who were also not interested in the meeting were urgently called to join in the function.
Reports would then emerged that local United Democratic Alliance UDA co-coordinators failed to agree on certain modalities leading the flop.
Some sources revealed that a fight had also emerged between divided groups thus delaying the plans.
When the media tried to find out more details about this, DP’s Director of Communications David Mugonyi was unavailable.
The event would start anyway on a low key with Ruto seizing the opportunity to ask leaders to embrace unity even as the country heads towards general elections.
“As leaders, we must endeavour to unite Kenyans. The electorate is well informed and can thus make the right decision when the time comes,” Ruto stated.
And while addressing residents of Nzeveni at Nzeveni Market, Makueni County, the DP asked Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to join him in forming the next government.
