Tuesday, January 25, 2022 –The late President Daniel Moi once prophesied that opposition leader Raila Odinga will one day rule Kenya.
Though many don’t remember this historic remark made by Moi in 90s, it is on record that the late president once predicted that the son of Jaramogi would one day win power and run the country.
The remarks were clearly captured by the East African Standard now Standard newspaper of 90’s with headline, ‘Raila Could Lead Kenya’.
Kenya’s second president the late Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi will go down the books of history as the head of State who ruled Kenya for the longest period. The man from Baringo rose to power from a mere teacher in a classroom only to run Kenya for over two decades.
He was ousted from power by the same Raila who came up with a powerful slogan ‘Kibaki Tosha’ in 2002 that led to his fall.
And with now the country already in the elections mode, Raila will be making his fifth and final stab at the presidency.
It is believed by his supporters that what has been denying Odinga power is lack of goodwill from the State. Luckily, today he has won the heart of the president who has promised to use all means possible to make him win August polls.
Raila’s attempt to take power in the past four general elections was stopped by the the powerful power cartel around the Statehouse. The most notable contest being in 2007 when he almost won against Kibaki. He would unfortunately be stopped.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and his powerful inner circle have now decided to throw weight behind Mr. Odinga in what they have termed as the Mandela Moment.
Hon. Raila and DP William Ruto are the two top contestants so far in the country and who are neck to neck as far as recent opinion polls are concerned.
