President Uhuru leads Kenyans in repentance during National Prayer Service

President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta asked Kenyans to repent and seek God’s favour as the country continues to battle different challenges.

Speaking during National Prayer Day NPD held at Statehouse today Saturday October 10^th, Uhuru asked for forgiveness from anyone he had wronged and the vice versa saying that was the only way to move this country forward.

He said peace for the nation was the most important thing right now adding that God had shown a lot of favour to Kenyans which must therefore be taken with a lot of seriousness.

“Kama kuna mtu nimefanyia makosa naomba anisamehe,,, na kama kuna mtu amenikosea nimemsamehe pia(I ask to be forgiven with those I have wronged and I also forgive anyone I could have wronged),” he said during his thanksgiving session.

Despite that, Mr. Kenyatta who was accompanied by his wife Margret Kenyatta said Kenya had also won so many battles because her people are God fearing citizens.

This was the Second National Prayer Day dedicated to God amid ‘serious’ challenges in the country including yet to end Covid-19 pandemic, graft and hot political temperatures.

The inter-faith service that ended at around noon was presided over by a cross-section of religious leaders.

Politicians from both government and opposition were also present among them Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, ANCs Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya’s Mosses Wetang’ula.

Also present was Deputy President William Ruto.
