Friday, February 11, 2022 -Ford Kenya Party leader Moses Wetang’ula today ‘urged’ residents of Nakuru to vote Azimo la Umoja Movement.
In what appeared to be a slip of the tongue while drumming up support for their newly formed Kenya Kwanza Alliance, the Ford Kenya Party boss uttered Raila’s Azimio word before he quickly corrected it to Kenya Kwanza though the damage had been done already.
Senator Wetang’ula was introduced to the microphone by Amani National Congress ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi to address Nakuru residents; and he(Wetang’ula) started his speech by rallying the residents to vote Azimio before realizing the slip of his tongue.
“Our friends from Nakuru, we have come here with William Ruto together with Musalia Mudavadi and Rigathi Gachagua to ask you one thing, that you vote for azimi…,” he stammered.
“Support our group Kenya Kwanza because it is the group that cares about the issues affecting Kenyans,” the senator quickly struggled to correct.
Attempts to correct this mistake came when it was too late to undo the damage since witty Kenyans had already picked the mistake and ran away with it.
Those who commented said it is interesting to see the senator utter Azimio instead of his former coalition dubbed One Kenya Alliance.
“Honestly, between Azimio and OKA which one should Wetang’ula remember easily?” a user posed on Facebook.
This is not the first time this was happening in Ruto’s camp, during their recent Busia County tour, an aspirant in Nambale area who was given an opportunity to speak also did the same mistake infront of Deputy President William Ruto.
Before joining hands with Ruto, Wetang’ula was on record saying he would want to join Azimio because his heart wanted it that way but the body was still reluctant due to what Raila’s ODM Party had done to him by removing him from Minority leadership position in the Senate. He was quoted by the Nation.
