Sunday, February 20, 2022 –Nyali legislator Mohamed Ali aka Jicho Pevu was embarrassed while trying to make his Kenya Kwanza speech in his Constituency.
In the middle of his speech, an unidentified man stood and grabbed his microphone and immediately started promoting Azimio la Umoja rallies in Mombasa. He urged residents to show up in numbers in Raila Odinga’s ongoing rallies.
Sources told this desk that the angry man snatched the microphone from Ali and seized the opportunity to sell the Raila agenda.
“Am inviting you on Sunday, God willingly, to the rally of all rallies in Mombasa at Tononoka Grounds for Azimio,” he said as Ali watched helplessly.
To scuttle his mission, the Dj resorted to switching off the microphone but the defiant man went on with his speech.
Mohamed’s comments that Raila Odinga had not helped the region in any way is where the problem started.
“You said that once you get to power we will get our lands. When you became the prime minister and Orengo the minister of lands, you had power in the shared government, instead of helping the Coastal people to get back their lands you and Orengo got yourselves 5000 acres in South Coast and North Coast,” Ali claimed during the funeral service.
Ali who won election on an Independent ticket has since joined Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance UDA Party which he wants to be re-elected on.
Ali and Aisha Jumwa are the two notable figures from Mombasa County who are championing the Bottom Up economic model as preached by Deputy President William Ruto.
