Wednesday, February 23, 2022 –President Uhuru Kenyatta has promised to support Deputy President William Ruto’s quest for presidency in future.
The visibly charged Uhuru asked his Mt Kenya Region to heed to his succession advice if they want to have peace in their area.
Addressing his supporters from around the Mountain today Wednesday February 23, the president asked his backyard to support someone who could have their interests at heart saying between the two leaders – Raila and Ruto – one is honest while the other was having a vendetta.
He added that, though he has one vote, he will use it diligently to make sure the country remains in genuine hands.
Uhuru who addressed the more than 10,000 persons gathering in complete Kikuyu dialect, also noted that he was still willing to support William Ruto but only when he reforms.
“I’m asking you to support Raila Odinga as he means well for the Country. When “my young man reforms”, we will consider him,” he remarked.
Uhuru who today launched an official charm-offensive against his deputy’s influence around Mt Kenya, was cheered as he dropped his sentiments one by one.
He hosted more than 10,000 residents of Mt Kenya at the Sagana State Lodge in a meeting dubbed Sagana 3.
A visibly bold Kenyatta argued that the reason he made a u-turn on supporting his deputy was because of gross-misconduct and insubordination; something he said had affected the economy of this country to the benefit of afew individuals.

On the other hand, the head of State argued that the ODM Party boss understands well where the country is heading, and will therefore be at peace to hand him office in August this year.
“Kibaki left mean economy worth sh 5 trillion, today, the person I will hand government to…and it is that person (referring to shouts of Baba) Yes! Yes!
“The one I will hand the government, and you have mentioned him, I will leave him an economy of sh 13 trillion,” the president remarked.
He defended the Handshake deal between him and Odinga saying the DP was also aware of it but never wanted it to take place.
Uhuru divulged that when he was driving to Harambee House to meet Odinga for the Handshake, Ruto was the last person he told this on phone.
