Saturday, February 26, 2022 –President Uhuru Kenyatta has responded to those blaming him for working with the opposition leaders.
Kenyatta, for the first time, answered his deputy William Ruto who has been castigating him for shaking hands with Odinga. Uhuru said his relationship with the opposition will be the first in the word if at all it has never happened anywhere else.
He asked those against his style of working to understand that Kenya is more important than personal ambitions which have to be controlled.
He also said stretching hands to shake Odinga was triggered by the act of some of his governmnet officials politicking throughout. He argued that Raila, Kalonzo, and Gideon have helped him continue running affairs of the nation at the time of need.
On his part, Mr. Kalonzo assured the audience that they cannot afford to lose this elections because it is critical for safety of this nation going forward.
“We will engage in a structured dialogue but remember we cannot afford to lose their elections this time,” he remarked.
The Orange Party boss, Raila Odinga, taking to the podium explained how he came together with Uhuru Kenyatta.
Raila also reiterated the need for Uhuru to remain active in any leadership role of this nation even after next elections.
He promised to unite all the parties joining his Azimio la Umoja umbrella which he believes will win next elections with a big margin against William Ruto.
The leaders were speaking during the Jubilee National Delegates Conference NDC held at the Kenyatta International Conference Center KICC in Nairobi.
