Eyebrows as Ruto starts campaign to ‘befriend’ police officers

Deputy President William Ruto has embarked on a campaign to entice police force towards the ‘Hustlers’ side.

Addressing crowds in Nyamira Kisii on Thursday October 15 where he went to have a session with bodaboda operators, DP Ruto mentioned how he had no problem with policemen despite having disrupted several of his events in the recent past.

While trying to stage a rally in Nyamira last week, Ruto was forced to cancel the event scheduled in Nyamira after the government refused to allow him to carry on.

The second in command said on Thursday that his previous meetings were cancelled following the orders from above people whom he referred to as not only arrogant but also high headed who don’t want to see ‘Hustlers’ improve their lives.

“These policemen have no problem. The problem is the people who live in the ivory tower who don’t know the problem that some people are going through,” Ruto said.

The DP further seemed to be daring the Sate by openly addressing whatever he had for long kept at heart.

He took his sweet time to defend the men in uniform whom he said had nothing wrong against him and should not be blamed for interfering with his countrywide meetings.

Ruto then asked members of the public not to blame the security agents for his woes since they were acting as per the orders from the house above.

That the problems is the people sited at the ‘high pillars’ of command who are hellbent on making sure his life in politics doesn’t go beyond 2022.

He claimed the mighty powerful men in government nolonger want him to preach his Hustlers gospel which was sending shivers down their veins.

Ruto, in his indirect attack to the likes of CS Fred Matiang’i, also took the chance to remind his juniors in government that he was still the elected deputy president and that they had no option but to live with that reality however bitter it may be until his term ends.

He wondered how he had been reduced to someone who must first beg to meet Kenyans whom he is serving as their deputy.
