Tuesday, March 15, 2022 –Party leader at Narc Kenya Martha Karua has refuted social media reports that she was destined to attend the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) National Delegates Conference (NDC) on Tuesday.
Through a statement on Twitter on March 14, Karua rubbished the reports which had been circulated by UDA bloggers linking her to the UDA event meant to endorse DP William Ruto. She described the reports as fabricated, desperate and false.
Ms Karua went further to clear that she has never had a common goal with the deputy president and this may not happen any time soon.
“They should stop sensational reporting and tell viewers the truth that I am not attending the UDA party NDC,” the party leader stated.
The reports linking Karua to the event, started when Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki told media that she was one of the expected surprise guests.
“In that vein, we expect party leaders from our partner parties to be present as our guests as Ruto has also attended some of their events. We expect Musalia Mudavadi of ANC, Moses Wetangula of Ford Kenya, and Martha Karua.
“We cannot say that there will be a surprise guest but UDA is a friend of so many parties,’ he went on.
Karua’s links to UDA function were anticipated after she failed to join her One Kenya Alliance OKA counterparts who endorsed Raila Odinga at an event organized at KICC and Jacaranda Grounds in Embakasi East.
The ex-justice and Constitutional Minister would hours later reveal to her supporters that she had decided to remain at home peacefully.
