Friday, March 25, 2022 –Opposition leader Raila Odinga has reportedly asked her daughter Winnie Odinga to provide him space to mingle with people.
Winnie who always accompanies Raila everywhere he goes including in and outside the country, has now been missing in many of Odinga’s latest events after she was reported to have misbehaved in London during the recent Odinga’s tour in the United Kingdom UK.
According to a tweet that was published by Kimmie 2 times on March 20, Winnie verbally attacked the Kenya’s High Commissioner Manoah Esipisu after missing their flight at Heathrow Airport since the driver could not quickly locate the VIP gate at the airport.
“Apparently Winnie O. verbally abused the Kenyan High Commissioner to the U.K. after they missed their flight back to Kenya. Driver couldn’t locate the VIP gate but somehow that was the ambassador’s fault,” Kimmie, believed to be Land CS Farida Karoney’s son, wrote.
This incident seems to have made Raila to learn a big lesson and now he seemingly has started cracking the whip to save his presidential candidature.
A source told this desk that Winnie was for the first time conspicuously missing on Wednesday when Raila attended an important function at the Bomas of Kenya.
The ODM leader had attended the UPYA National Delegates Conference (NDC) where they endorsed the opposition leader as their sole presidential candidate in the August polls.
“I was very sure that Raila was going to leave Winnie Odinga after the recent rumor that she was involved in a war of words with a leader in the United Kingdom. I think Baba decided to take instant action to drop her and I think that was a good move,” the source claimed.
Another anonymous source said the presence of Winnie in father’s political events has been unfavourable for many Kenyans and people around Odinga.
“By accompanying Raila to Bomas today, Winnie Odinga was going to grab all attention from the father because she would have attracted critics, making people lose what the Azimo candidate was going to tell them. Kudos Jakom,” added another one.
It is high time Odinga separated politics from family if he wanted to paint a presidential picture since some of his growing children may handle serious matters in a family way and trigger a huge fallout.
