Friday, March 25, 2022 –Former Nairobi County Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has joined Azimio la Umoja Movement which he wants to use to reclaim his Nairobi seat that he lost through an impeachment a couple of years back.
Today Friday March 25, Mr. Sonko joined Azimio coalition through Wiper Democratic Party of Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka in an event organized at SKM Command Center in Nairobi.
It was detailed that the flamboyant politician was planning to run for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat through the Wiper Party.
The ex-Nairobi governor told Wiper Party leaders that he was happy to be accommodated in their team for the sake correcting leadership mess in the country.
He also thanked his Jubilee Party leadership for having had faith in him when he was first running for the Nairobi seat in 2017.
“I would like to thank the party leadership for the support they have provided me while I served as Nairobi Governor before I was unconstitutionally removed from office,” he wrote.
Though he is yet to state his plans between now and August, word has it that he will soon bounce back to the ballot to face off with his predecessor Anne Kananu, Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi and Mr. Richard Ngatia.
