Monday, March 27, 2022 –Kenya Kwanza-allied politicians led by Deputy President William Ruto met a rude shock in Kirinyaga County during their Saturday March 25 political tour.
The group was left speechless after locals chanting Azimio confronted them for misleading the region when in reality they are not what they are trying to preach around the country.
They would be booed and heckled as the charged crowd continued calling them ‘thieves and looters’ of public coffers anytime they are mandated to run office.
Kirinyaga residents told Homenews.co.ke desk that Ms Waiguru and her ilk had looted money meant for bursary and development and therefore it would be hard to re-elect her back into office.
The development now pushes Waiguru at a tight corner since she moved to Ruto’s UDA Party with hopes that the DP’s popularity will provide her a chance to be re-elected into office; but as things are turning out now, this might be just a pipe dream.
It will now be interesting to see how she will maneuver the terrain so that to beat the well-oiled Purity Ngirici and former Constitutional Minister Martha Karua who is also fighting for the same gubernatorial seat.
Ruto will also have to work extra hard to find support from Kirinyaga County now that Waiguru’s voice has already been drowned by her overworking rivals.
