Monday, April 4, 2022 – Mr. Thomas Okari has been hacked to death in his home in Kisii County after he had just returned to prepare for Orange Party nominations.
The diseased was on Monday April 4 reported to have been found killed by people not yet identified but police point at political rivalry.
He was aspiring to be the next Member of County Assembly MCA Bombaba Borabu Ward in Kisii County.
The late night attack, according to residents, left him bleeding on the floor before he finally succumbed to the injuries.
A Family member told police that Okari had traveled from Nairobi City to his rural on Sunday April 3 evening to start preparations for the ODM Party primaries of Thursday April 7.
He was attacked while resting in his room after along Nairobi-Kisii journey. It was his nephew who was awakened by distress noise and on going to check at the scene, he already found the uncle lying helplessly on the floor.
“I have this morning learnt of the untimely death of Mr Thomas Ontweka, an aspirant of the MCA seat of Bombaba Ward in Bomachoge Borabu Constituency. I condemn the heinous, cowardly act and urge the police to ensure that the culprits are apprehended to face the full force of law,” MP Simba Arati stated.
He was hit by a sharp panga with men who hastily then left through the back door.
