Friday, April 8, 2022 –Azimio la Umoja coalition has reportedly decided to front Mr. Polycarp Igathe and MP Tim Wanyonyi for Nairobi gubernatorial seat.
As Igathe plans to fly the Azimio la Umoja flag, Tim Wanyonyi who is the current Westlands Member of Parliament will be his preferred running mate.
The arrangement which is still under a tight secret leaked out through one of their popular communication channel associated with ODM Party.
The channel further reported that Mr. Igathe has already left Equity Bank job to start campaigns around Nairobi County.
The source also intimated that it is only a matter of time before the revelations play out in the open despite earlier arrangements having claimed that Jubilee would be fronting someone else; notably a rich city businessman Richard Ngatia who had already submitted his nomination papers.
On the same note, current Governor Anne Kananu same to business-lady Agnes Kagure had also showed their interests in the Jubilee Party ticket.
The new arrangement – Wanyonyi and Igathe – may sound good for Nairobi County after two past failed leaderships of Evans Kidero and his successor Mike Mbuvi Sonko.
But even as this development surfaces and continues to build up, Wiper Party is having a different view and wants to be considered for the position because they are equally important in Azimio.
Azimio team, will be facing off with Senator Johnston Sakaja who has since joined United Democratic Alliance UDA Party of Dr. William Ruto.
