Friday, April 15, 2022 –Most key allies of Deputy President William Ruto have lost their candidature through the just concluded party primaries held on Thursday April 14.
Quite a number of big shots who already lost the race have continued crying foul some citing lack of transparency in the entire process.
Among those who couldn’t believe the outcome of the results is vocal Laikipia Woman Representative, Cate Waruguru, who dramatically lost the poll to the incumbent Mohammed Amin Deddy.
Deddy garnered 12,743 votes against Woman Representative Waruguru who got a paltry 5,595 votes as ex-MP Anthony Mutahi followed third with votes 2,701.
In Nairobi, Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Jaguar also lost the polls while in Naivasha, area lawmaker Jayne Kihara lost to her predecessor John Kihagi who got 10,394 votes against hers 9,991.
In Elgeyo Marakwet County, Senator Kipchumba Murkomen’s aide, Adams Kipsanai managed to beat two-time Keiyo North MP, James Murgor, to bag the UDA party ticket. Further, Keiyo South MP Daniel Rono also lost the poll.
Miles away in Igembe South in Meru County, John Paul Mwirigi, was handed a free UDA Party ticket after a consensus meeting as Moses Cheboi lost polls to Sirikwa MCA Alfred Mutahi of Kuresoi North.
Deputy President William Ruto, in his reaction statement, urged those ones who had lost to accept the results saying the party’s electoral board had delivered one of the most credible exercises in the history of the nation.
