Friday, April 15, 2022 –Though Safaricom has been lagging behind in terms of online SIM re-registration, today the giant Telco has managed to launch its online platform.
Safaricom subscribers can now comfortably make their details submission by visiting the newly introduced online method just like their counterparts Artel Kenya and Telkom.
The last two were fast in introducing the online method even as Safaricom which is always ahead of them in terms of client base remained behind slightly leading to a public uproar.
Safaricom users who are overseas remained stuck as the days ran fast towards the regulator’s April 15 deadline that has since been extended. This is because, for anyone using Safaricom, he or she had to physically visit Safaricom dealer/agent’s shop for assistance making it even more complicated for those in the diaspora to re-register.
To re-register your Airtel or Telkom line you will have to visit these two portals respectively. Click here to see the DETAILS.
To make this registration process as smooth as possible, make sure your Identification ID photos are as clear as possible because the system may reject.
Moreover, try to update the details from your mobile phone because the process is way much easier, and faster using a tablet or smart phone.
It goes without saying that you do not need a selfie to complete the process because your facial photo is not yet mandatory for now maybe later in 2023.
Therefore, here is the simple update process for Safaricom users:
- Go to this link.
- Enter your phone number.
- Enter the one-time password you will receive via SMS.
- Upload the front and back images of your ID.
- Complete and submit.
Afterward, the page will alert you that the process has been completed successfully.
Should you get errors during the process, just keep trying or rest for some minutes before coming to try again because of the huge traffic currently hitting the website.
