Saturday, April 16, 2022 –President Uhuru Kenyatta has destroyed the economic stability of Central Region people.

Vocal Deputy President William Ruto’s ally, Rigathi Gachagua, has told a local channel that the once vibrant economic giant of Kenya had been destroyed by President Uhuru Kenyatta after he took power in 2013.

Mathira lawmaker Rigathi Gachagua with Deputy President William Ruto in Central Kenya.

The Mathira lawmaker argued that they are currently discussing with Deputy President William Ruto on how to re-stabilize the ‘Mountain’ after a failed administration of Jubilee which had run it down.

“The Mt Kenya people are paranoid about demolitions and evictions. They feel very pained when their businesses are demolished.

“We have agreed that his government will not demolish what our people have built, it will not evict them at night, and we have agreed that it will provide resources and cheap credit to them,” he explained, adding that they have since agreed this would be a thing of the past.

The MP added saying that under the Uhuru regime, Mt Kenya Region had suffered a lot what they cannot hide away from the president as he plans to retire home from August 9.

“If you go through the newspapers, you will find up to sixteen pages of properties and goods being auctioned, most of these properties belong to the people of Mt Kenya.

“If you look at the people with pending bills at the National Youth Service (NYS), KURA, KERRA, the national government and at county levels, they are our people. They have not been paid for years and this has weakened their businesses,” he added.

President Uhuru Kenyatta arrive at Sagana State Lodge last week to meet with region’s MCAs.

He defended his decision to back William Ruto’s presidency saying it stands the only remaining solution for the Kikuyus and the country at large.

Gachagua’s sentiments are coming at the time Kenyatta has vowed to soldier on with the Azimio la Umoja coalition to make Raila Odinga the next president of Kenya.
