Saturday, April 23, 2022 –Renowned comedian-cum-radio presenter Felix Odiwuor or Jalang’o has been handed Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party ticket for Lang’ata seat.
The ex-Kiss 100 morning presenter won the Thursday April 22 polls with 3,509 votes closely followed by Oscar Omoke who managed 1,612 votes.
Homenews.co.ke also learnt that former Gor Mahia Treasurer, Sally Bolo, only managed to garner 138 votes.
“God has given me the chance to fly the Azimio Flag in the August elections. Thank you Langata. We are one step in. Now the real work begins and God is above everything,” read the statement in part.
He will now be facing off with the incumbent UDA candidate Nixon Korir who has been the area member of parliament for only one term.
Jalang’o’s win is coming at the time social media has been awash with false reports that his rival had already been handed the ticket through the backdoor. This saw a section of Kenyans alleged that the comedian was now headed to Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance UDA.
However, quickly ODM National Elections Board led by Chairperson Catherine Mumma issued a clarification saying the rumour was false and misleading.
And in the neighboring Kibra Constituency, Kibra Member of Parliament, Imran Okoth, badly lost to a new entrant Mwalimu Peter Orero who got 3,422 votes moving him close to succeeding Mr. Imran.
