Tuesday, April 26, 2022 –Senator Johnson Sakaja has settled on James Njoroge Muchiri as his preferred running mate for Nairobi duel.
Making the announcement on Tuesday April 26 morning, a source from Sakaja’s inner circle divulged that it was sealed that the Chief Operations at a regional bank, will be the deputy for the UDA Party candidate.
This therefore means that the Sakaja-Muchiri team will be facing off with Azimio’s dynamic duo of Polycarp Igathe-Kaloki.
Muchiri has been picked even as word had it that Sakaja was thinking of picking – most probably – Westland’s MP Tim Wanyonyi to boost his bid around Nairobi.
The development today means that Deputy President William Ruto has now completed his city lineup which comprises Millicent Omanga for Woman Representative and Margret Wanjiru for Senate. The two will be facing off with Azimio’s Esther Passaris and Edwin Sifuna in that order.
Initially, Mr. Muchiri wanted to become Nyandarua County governor but was trounced in the primaries by his fierce rival Moses Kiarie Badilisha who was being backed by MP Moses Kuria.
Muchiri’s career is in banking sector where he has managed to serve in the capacities of the Director of technology and operations in two regional banks both in Tanzania and Botswana.
The banker is also an alumnus of National schools – Alliance High School and Mang’u – with a Degree in Mathematics and computer.
He also runs a philanthropic organization dubbed Njoroge Muchiri Foundation – a non-profit entity that champions social and economic transformation around Mt. Kenya Region.
