Thursday, April 28, 2022 –Embattled Member of Parliament for Westlands Tim Wanyonyi has endorsed Polycarp Igathe for Nairobi gubernatorial seat.
In their Thursday April 28 meeting, the two appeared to share the same room and in support of each other. The meeting took place in Westlands, Nairobi.
Mr. Wanyonyi also promised to make sure his supporters vote in Igathe-Kaloki team for Nairobi as he goes back to Westlands Constituency to defend his seat on ODM Party ticket.
In the meeting there were other leaders among them Nairobi County Assembly members – Majority Whip Peter Imwatok and his Minority Paul Kados. Also in the same group was the vocal Kamukunji MP Yussuf Hassan.
“Wanyonyi and Igathe agreed to work together and from next week, all ODM MCAs will join the Azimio campaigns and hit the ground running. We will all drop the ODM belonging or Jubilee belonging and campaign as Azimio la Umoja,” Nairobi Minority Whip Peter Imwatok confirmed.
Wanyonyi was recently pressured to step down for Mr. Igathe a move that caused some friction in Azimio coalition.
Today Thursday April 28, the lawmaker also dropped a video in which he assured his party that he will continue being a loyal supporter of Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja coalition.
It is now official that Azimio and Kenya Kwanza camps have got their lineups ready for the August 9 political duel. Kenya Kwanza has Senator Johnson Sakaja as their flagbearer deputized by James Muchiri.
