Saturday, April 30, 2022 –It was a shocking moment in Othaya Constituency when one of the Mwai Kibaki’s grandson refused to shake Raila Odinga’s hand.
In a dramatic video uploaded on Hometube channel today Saturday April 30 afternoon, one of the boisterous grandsons of the 3rd president of the Republic of Kenya was captured on camera ignoring Raila’s hand in full glare of lenses.
The young man openly snubbed Odinga’s right handshake as his wife Ida looked on in utter shock signaling the hate some of the Kibaki family members still have on Raila who once supported Kibaki wholeheartedly to become president in 2002 through his Kibaki Tosha rallying call.
In the video with us, the man snubbed Raila by hiding his face away from the ex-premier in a manner suggesting “I don’t want to see you here”.
But the mature Odinga just smiled and walked away in silence to his seat at the VIP arena where other guests were sited.
Nonetheless, other family members led by elder son Jimmy Kibaki happily welcomed Raila at home and greeted him with some degree of honour.
This development was recorded during the final send off ceremony of the late president Mwai Kibaki in which President Uhuru Kenyatta and other African leaders were also available.
The late Kibaki ruled Kenya between 2002 and 2012 and died at the age of 90.
