Saturday, April 30, 2022 –Viral news about the late Mwai Kibaki’s young grandchild having dodged Raila Odinga’s hand during burial ceremony of the former President in Othaya today Saturday is not correct.

In the video which has been circulating with speed around the internet, the grandson to the late can be seen avoiding hand as well as any eye contact with the former Premier, Raila Odinga, who was greeting and consoling them one after another.

Homenews.co.ke has, however, established that the circulating video clip was edited by those opposed to Raila Odinga so that to paint a picture of a man not wanted in Central Region and in particular by Mwai Kibaki family.

The author of the video took advantage of the boy’s move to turn away his face from the cameras immediately after he had greeted Mr. Odinga. The controversial video was purely edited for political reasons.

“The boy actually greeted Raila. Not just the boy but with his mother they stood up as a sign of respect before shaking Baba’s hand. If he wasn’t interested in shaking Baba he could have not stood up. Is only that he wanted to avoid cameras like any other teenagers would behave,” national blogger Christ buoy clarified after scrutinizing the actual video well.

This video was recorded on Saturday April 30 during the final sendoff ceremony of the late president Mwai Kibaki in which President Uhuru Kenyatta and other African leaders were also present.

The late Kibaki ruled Kenya between 2002 and 2012 and has died at the age of 90.
