Wednesday, May 4, 2022 –Those interested in becoming running mate in Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance have only 24 hours to make applications. Details now emerge.
The recently constituted advisory committee has issued the directive and clarified that time was of essence since elections are just three months away.
The interviewing panel will be meeting at the Azimio headquarters in Nairobi every day until Tuesday May 10 with an aim of discussing who should be Raila Odinga’s deputy ahead of the August 9 polls.
On May 10, they will also submit the final name to Mr. Odinga who is their coalition flagbearer so that he can finally make it public when he deems fit.
The Azimio advisory committee also comprises former Cabinet Minister Noah Wekesa as its chairman.
It is not clear if Kitui Senator Kiio Wambua will be sitting in the panel despite his party leader Kalonzo Musyoka having already clarified that he will not be part of those appearing before it.
Recently, Mr. Kalonzo threatened that should Odinga pick on someone else, the Azimio coalition will lose the elections to William Ruto.
