Eugene, Wetang’ula Tear Apart Each Other Over Ruto Agreement

Friday, May 13, 2022 –Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and Senator Moses Wetang’ula have gone blunt on each other over Western Region politics.

The Defence CS, today Friday May 13, ridiculed both Wetang’ula and Amani National Congress ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi for accepting to be played by Deputy President William Ruto in the just publicized Kenya Kwanza coalition.

UDA Party leader William Ruto, ANC Party boss Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ula in a Kiambu rally on Saturday Jan 29.

Eugene wondered how Wetang’ula who boasts of being a sharp and experienced lawyer alongside self-styled Western kingpin Musalia Mudavadi could accept a shoddy agreement with Ruto whose requirements they cannot meet even if given any length of time.

He argued that the two leaders from his region had been duped into signing an agreement whose beneficiary was only DP William Ruto and his Rift Valley Region.

Wamalwa added that Musalia and Wetang’ula would never hit the 70 percent mark as outlined in their Kenya Kwanza agreement and that this was ill-intended to make sure Musalia and Wetang’ula do not have a breathing space in the Ruto’s coalition.

“Ruto offered them a sweet deal on one side but made it impossible for them to fulfill the conditions set for that sweet deal. I am a lawyer by profession, and I would like to tell the two brothers of mine that they have been duped.

“Mudavadi ran for President in the 2013 General Election. He only managed 400,000 votes, which was not even half the total votes cast in Western Kenya region.

“He is now being asked to raise 70 per cent of the Western Kenya votes. Honestly, that is impossible for Mudavadi and Wetangula,” Eugene added.

But after sending that message to Wetang’ula, the Bungoma Senator immediately hit back asking the CS to give them a better deal if he feels what they had bagged from Kenya Kwanza was a sham.

“Eugene Wamalwa, stop wailing and ranting louder than the bereaved about Kenya kwanza. If our deal is bad, where is your good one? If you had kept your mouth shut, one would have thought you are clever!! Endelea kupangwa (continue being misused),” Wetangula stated.

The agreement of both Azimio and Kenya Kwanza coalitions are already deposited with the registrar and, according to the law, it is now not possible to withdraw this or change mind unless it is on a personal level.
