Wednesday, May 18, 2022 –Latest opinion poll now puts Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya alliance presidential candidate Raila Amollo Odinga leading.

Further, new entrant Kalonzo Musyoka comes third with a paltry 2 percent ratings after he made it official that he will be joining the race to make it a three-man race.

The pollster also established from their findings that there were still some undecided people at 14% while 1% will not be voting at all.

While releasing these numbers, lead researcher Tom Wolf said Raila and his running mate Martha Karua would be voted for by 69 per cent of respondents in Nyanza while Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua will manage to get 66 per cent support from South Rift.

Currently, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo still enjoys the biggest support from Lower Eastern Region where 15 per cent of respondents said they would vote for him and his running mate Andrew Sunkuli.

Moreover, the Azimio team is most popular in five of the nine zones where the survey was conducted – Nyanza (69%), Coast (49%), Lower Eastern (36%), Nairobi (49%) and Western (49%).

On the other hand, the Kenya Kwanza team is most popular in four of the nine zones – South Rift (66%), Central (59%), Mt Kenya (46%) and Northern (40%).

“But recall that number of registered voters in each of these zones is very very different so you can’t predict even if the elections were held tomorrow just on the basis of distribution of support in the zones, you have to look at the total figures,” Mr. Wolf said.

A couple of days ago, DP William Ruto was still leading with 39 percent while Mr. Odinga followed him with 32 percent.
