Mt Kenya Region Plotting Against Raila – Kuria

Sunday, May 22, 2022 –Mt. Kenya politicians supporting Raila Odinga and his Azimio la Umoja coalition want to edge him out shortly after taking power.

Gatundu lawmaker Moses Kuria sensationally made the claims on Saturday May 21 that there is a plot to either remove or kill Odinga to pave way for their own, Narc-Kenya Party leader Martha Karua.

Kuria made this wild remarks during the Murang’a Economic Forum, where he stated that anybody supporting Raila from Mt. Kenya was in agreement with the hidden scheme to finish him.

He argued that the leaders allied to Azimio from Mt Kenya have been having a conversation on how they will make Martha president before five years of Raila are over.

“There is a leader from where I come from, who I will not mention by name, who has gone around telling the people to look for someone else. What kind of a relationship is that? Isn’t that deceit?” Kuria questioned.

According to Kuria, Central Region people have never voted for Odinga since 1997 and therefore even after picking Karua this won’t change anytime soon.

He also added that it is no longer a secret that President Uhuru Kenyatta who sponsored Odinga to run had hit a dead end and retreated due to the past resolve of Mt. Kenya people to never vote Odinga into office.

“The toilet called Kuzimia began stinking a long time ago. It is not by accident that we did not vote for him in 1997, 2007, 2013 and 2017 we did not vote for him. We did not reject him because of Uhuru and we will not accept him because of that,” Kuria added.

He therefore assured the region that they can only be safe in Deputy President William Ruto’s hands and not Raila who they know his leadership style may hurt people from the region.

His remarks were echoed by Kiambu Woman Representative, Gathoni Wamuchomba, who told the former Prime Minister that aspirants in the region still know he will lose and that is why they have not been taking serious the Azimio campaigns.
